Is it set to cool, with the temperature below the room? Do the remote batteries work?
Cooling guide
Not every cooling problem is a broken AC. Work through the common causes below, then call us if it still will not cool.

Four checks you can do safely. Anything involving gas or electrics needs a technician.

A clogged filter chokes airflow. Rinse or replace it if you can reach it safely.
A tripped breaker can stop the outdoor unit while the indoor fan still runs.
Open doors, sun-facing glass or a unit that is too small for the space will keep a room warm.
Weak airflow usually means a dirty filter, a frozen or dusty coil, or a failing fan. A clean fixes it often; ice on the pipes needs a technician.
This points to size, sun load or air leaking out. A unit too small for the room, or a room with large west-facing windows, struggles. Blinds, closed doors and sealed gaps help.
Warm air from a running unit often means low refrigerant, a compressor or outdoor fan fault. Do not keep running it; book an inspection through our AC repair service.
Regular servicing keeps coils clean, so the unit works less for the same cooling. Read about system choices if yours is old, or see maintenance plans.

Many people find 24 to 25 degrees comfortable. Setting it much lower does not cool faster; it makes the unit run longer.
Ice usually means low airflow or low refrigerant. Switch the unit off to let it melt and book an inspection.
